Giants’ Eli Manning says ankle is ‘100%’
By Mike Dyce
New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning underwent arthroscopic surgery this offseason after suffering a high ankle sprain in the 2013 season finale. Manning still participated in organized team activities and minicamp, just seven weeks after the operation in April, and since has been resting up his ankle.

The Giants head into training camp with a new offensive coordinator, the second of Manning’s career, and there is a lot of learning to do. Fortunately, Manning says he is 100 percent healthy heading into training camp.
“The ankle feels great,” Manning said, via USA Today. “It’s 100%. I don’t feel it, don’t think about it, so it’s not an issue.”
Manning added: “I’ve just been resting it up a little bit after all the OTAs to make sure to give the body some time to rest to come into training camp full speed. But, yeah, I’ve been training, too. I’ve been doing everything as well. I feel good. I feel strong and I’m ready to go full speed.”
Manning said that there is work to be done learning the offense and he isn’t as comfortable as he’d like to be yet.
“It is different,” Manning said. “You come into the season a little nervous. You have a good feel for it, but not to where I want it to be, and that’s just going to come with more repetition and more plays. It’s a bit of a different feeling this time of year than it has been in previous years. We’ve still got a lot of work to do and a lot to improve on – to get comfortable with myself and get comfortable with my teammates and everything that goes on with being successful in an offense. We’ve got a lot of work to do, but I’m excited about that challenge.”
