The Washington Wizards are one of many NBA teams who will be wearing an alternate uniform this season but they’re one just of a few who will pay homage to their city on their threads.

More from NBA

While the full uniform has yet to be completely released, ESPN’s Darren Rovell got his hands on a photo of the shorts which include the Wizards alternate logo.

The logo, released back in 2011-12 hasn’t been used that often by the Wizards though should get plenty of run this season thanks to the new uniform.

The red, white and blue color scheme looks to fit in with the Washington Wizards current look (thankfully we don’t have to see something like the woeful gold alternate jerseys the team wore a few seasons ago) but seems to use deeper shades which gives a completely different feel.

Adding the alternate logo, which has mainly been available on merchandise, completes the look and gives a nice finishing touch.

Thankfully the Washington Wizards stayed relatively simple and didn’t attempt to junk up the shorts, using some well placed lines to point your eye to the logo which features the Washington Monument.

Hopefully the inclusion of the new look doesn’t completely abolish the other alternate uniform the Wizards have worn which is a reflection as their days as the Washington Bullets as those have proven to be one of the most popular looks in the NBA.

So how say you, FanSided? Do you like the Washington Wizards new look? Or should they trash it?
