The man tabbed to possibly replace recently-retired offensive guard Chris Snee in New York is dealing with a potentially serious problem. Reports from various New York media people say guard Brandon Mosley had to be carted off the practice field on Tuesday after suffering an apparent heat-related issue.

More from New York Giants

From Paul Schwartz of the New York Post:

Dan Graziano reports that Weston Richburg replaced Mosley with the first team before Mosley was taken off the field.

Mosley may have gotten overheated per Big Blue View:

A fourth round pick out of Auburn by the Giants in 2012, Mosley played in 13 games for New York last year with 1 start. Tom Coughlin confirmed on Monday that Mosley would get the first shot at replacing the retired Chris Snee at right guard.

Mosley got the majority of the first team reps during the spring while Snee was out. John Jerry, Eric Herman and the aforementioned Richburg are also in the mix.

We’ll have more when Mosley’s situation is updated by the Giants. Hopefully it was just a little heat issue and not anything serious.
