San Francisco 49ers rumors: Vernon Davis will not hold out through training camp
By Jack Crosby
The San Francisco 49ers will report to training camp on Wednesday to begin their quest at another playoff run, and there are some that believe tight end Vernon Davis will not report with the rest of his team as he continues to seek a new contract. Well Bill Williamson, who covers the team for ESPN, would see it as a big surprise if Davis did not show up.
Of course, he is correct about the wavering part. While Davis has been adamant about wanting a new deal in place soon, he has not been as ferocious about the negotiations as some other high-profile playersin the past have been.

At the very least, it wouldn’t be surprising to see him hold out for a few days, racking up a bit of a fine, before finally reporting for duty and just taking things from that point on.
He did skip the team’s offseason workouts, but that wasn’t treated as much of a big deal, seeing as the workouts were voluntary.
Now there have also been a few reports that he will be holding out through the camp, so at this point, it’ll just be a wait-and-see approach on Wednesday.
