Mixed martial arts fans are clamoring over the early UFC 178 fight card, but there is another UFC rumor surfacing that could mean another marquee bout being added to the Sept. 27 lineup in Las Vegas.
Jeremy Botter of Bleacher Report passed along a little rumor after Conor McGregor vs. Dustin Poirier was officially announced that indicates a light heavyweight match up between Glover Teixeira and Phil Davis is in the works for the event.
And Teixeira vs. Davis is a rumored fight for 178 as well. So that card…yeah. Wow.

If that bout is added, UFC 178 will truly be a “stacked” card.
The lineup is already impressive, with a rematch for the light heavyweight title between Jon Jones and Alexander Gustafsson scheduled as the main event.
Also on the card are the returns of former bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz and No. 1 women’s bantamweight contender Cat Zingano. Both fighters have been out of action thanks to injuries.
With so many exciting bouts already on the lineup, Teixeira vs. Davis would just be icing on the cake.
