In preparation for the biggest tour of the Summer/Fall, recording label Young Money has released a trailer for the upcoming ‘Drake vs. Lil Wayne’ tour.
Playing off the Street Fighter theme, the trailer envisions Grammy-winning recording artists Drake and Lil Wayne as characters in a next-generation Capcom game–possibly Marvel vs. Capcom–teasing photos of the two without actually displaying them in full.
Since the announcement of the collaboration tour, Wayne and Drake has well prepared themselves for a new span of music.
Using #WeezyWednesday to introduce new music such as “Believe Me” and “D’Usse”, Lil Wayne has built up anticipation for the release of “Tha Carter V”, his 12th studio album. Expected to be his final solo studio album, fans are haplessly waiting to see what the New Orleans writers has left up his sleeve after the last few years of producing uninspiring, low quality music, at least in comparison to what was produced during Weezy’s peak.
On the opposite side, Drake finds himself in a similar position, recently announcing his fourth studio album “Views from the 6″, all while growing his personal label October’s Very Own (OVO), pushing the likes of PartyNextDoor and Majid Jordan. In his downtime, Drake is keeping his name relevant by releasing standalone singles, most recently “0 to 100″ which has caught a lot of buzz lately.
The “Drake vs. Lil Wayne” tour will span over a month and a half, kicking off on August 8th in Buffalo, New York. From there, the tour will take stops in cities such as Atlanta, Washington D.C., New York, and Low Angeles, ending on September 27 in Houston, Texas.
