San Francisco 49ers tight end Vernon Davis was reportedly seeking a new deal, and considering holding out in the process to get one. On Wednesday, Davis showed up to 49ers training camp in an Instagram video posted by 49ers safety and special teamer C.J. Spillman.

Vernon Davis had been non-committal on the topic before, and skipped OTA’s and mini camp because it was in the best interest of his brand.

Davis also said that it wasn’t the end of the world if he didn’t get a new deal back in late June.

“It hasn’t been difficult at all. There are no worries. There is nothing that I can stress about,” Davis said. “It’s obvious that we want a new contract. I want a new contract. It’s just like any athlete, we all want a new contract. But I’m not going to stress over it. It’s not the end of the world if I don’t get it. If I get it, that’s good. It’s moving slowly, but surely. At the end of the day, if I don’t get the deal, at least I tried and I put my foot down. If I don’t get it at the moment, I’m not going to lose any sleep.”

Right Guard Alex Boone ahs also been fighting with the 49ers over a new contract and is expected to hold out.
