Bob Stoops fires back at Nick Saban, consolation game talk

The Alabama Crimson Tide had their National Championship dreams come apart last season and instead played the Oklahoma Sooners in the Sugar Bowl, still a big game. Saban said it was hard to motivate the players though, a game they lost 45-31.

At Big 12 media days, Oklahoma head coach Bob Stoops responded and he isn’t buying Saban’s excuses.

Stoops was also adamant that it wasn’t a fluke.

Stoops has come out and said that the win over Alabama has given them a boost in recruiting. The win has also seemed to reinstall the believe that they can win a National Championship according to comments from the players at media days.

“First and foremost, national championship,” said senior offensive tackle Daryl Williams, via the Dallas Morning News.

“We want nothing but the national championship,” senior Geneo Grissom said. “That’s what we’re striving for, us seniors. We want to go out with a bang and that’s the best way to do it.”
