Japan prime minister wants Robot Olympics in 2020

Robot wars was an awesome television show. Robot Olympics could be an amazing worldwide event, and that is something that the Japan prime minister wants to see.

Japan, which has not hosted an Olympics since the 1998 Winter Games in Nagano, is set to host the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo.

In 2020, Japanese prime minister Shinzo Abe said that he would also like to host the Robot Olympics.

Let him explain.

From NBC Sports:

“In 2020, I would like to gather all of the world’s robots and aim to hold an Olympics where they compete in technical skills,” prime minister Shinzo Abe said, according reports citing Jiji Press agency. “We want to make robots a major pillar of our economic growth strategy.”

Abe said he wanted to create a “robotic revolution,” tripling the nation’s industry for the machines to $24 billion.

I don’t know what events would be held in the Robot Olympics, but Robot soccer may still need some work.

But if the Robot Olympics would hold battles until a robot is rendered useless, it would be a huge success.

I like the way this Japanese prime minister thinks.
