The New York Jets moved quickly today with defensive lineman Jason Babin. After reportedly visiting with the Jets on Monday, he signed a two-year deal with the team on Wednesday.

Babin is 34 years-old but lead the Jacksonville Jaguars in sacks last season with 7.5 and 19 quarterback pressures to boot. He could be a low cost player for the Jets, providing good value at a low price.

The Jaguars released Babin in mid-June in a somewhat surprising move. Reportedly the Atlanta Falcons and Tampa Bay Buccaneers were two teams initially interested in him, but nothing materialized with either team.

It is unknown yet how Rex Ryan will use Babin, as a starter or a player he cycles in.
