EA Sports has released a brand new trailer for NHL 15, showing off the game’s new and improved Superstar Skill Stick.
From toe-dragging around defenders to spinning away from potential body checks, the new stickhandling mechanics will allow players to feel as though they have the talent of Pavel Datsyuk whenever they pick up the controller.
“With NHL 15 we’re putting that level of superstar control into your hands,” executive producer Sean Ramjagsingh said. “The all new Superstar Skill Stick allows you to stick handle with complete fluidity, giving you incredible control using just the right analog stick.”
The new skill stick features will allow players to make plays on the ice that they’ve never been able to do before. This will allow crisper passes, better decision making and highlight reel plays worthy of SportsCenter’s top 10.
The controls will also allow for new loose-puck and one-touch dekes to help you get around defenders in the offensive zone. Of course, mistimed dekes could result in you still getting your bell rung by the league’s bigger, more physical defensemen.
NHL 15 launches on September 9 for Xbox One and PlayStation 4. PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game will also be made available.
