The Buffalo Bills will likely be sold to a new ownership group in the near future but the fear fans have is that it will be to an ownership group who wants to move the team to Canada.

More from Buffalo Bills

According to the Associated Press, the group involving Jon Bon Jovi that has interest in buying the Buffalo Bills have been scouting out stadium locations in Toronto.

"A Buffalo Bills prospective ownership group that includes rocker Jon Bon Jovi has conducted a feasibility study into buying the NFL franchise and building a stadium in Toronto, said a person close to the situation saysThe study identified at least three potential stadium sites, two in Toronto, including one on the waterfront, and another in the suburb of Mississauga, the person told The Associated Press on Thursday. The person spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity because Bon Jovi and his partners, Larry Tanenbaum and the Rogers family, have not publicly revealed details of their plans to purchase the team."

This doesn’t mean that the team is for sure moving, but it’s not a very good sign for if the Bon Jovi group ends up purchasing the team. The NFL wouldn’t block a move to another country, as the expansion quest it’s on has eyes set over in London, so Toronto is not even a big deal.

It’s a big deal to Bills fans though, as a move to Toronto would kill the legacy that has been built in Buffalo for so many years.
