The 2014 International Champions Cup is underway in the United States, with a number of the top club soccer teams in Europe invading North American soil to bring world class soccer to the fans.
On Thursday night, it was AC Milan of Italy’s Serie A and Greek standout Olympiakos that took the pitch at BMO Field in Toronto, Canada.
When the final whistle blew, it was Olympiakos who came away with a commanding 3-0 win.
The scoring got underway in the 16th minute when Alejandro Domínguez was able to sneak the ball past AC Milan goalie Gabriel to the right bottom corner of the net.
We entered halftime with a 1-0 Olympiakos lead.
Less than five minutes in to the second half, Dimitrios Diamantakos was able to build the Olympiakos lead by once again beating Gabriel to the bottom right corner.
The game was nearly out of reach for AC Milan, but Andreas Bouchalakis sealed the win by scoring the third goal of the match for the Greek side.
Olympiakos’ next game will come on July 27 against Liverpool at Soldier Field in Chicago. Milan will return to action against Manchester City on the same date at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
