The Cleveland Cavaliers went out and brought back LeBron James this summer but the work to re-tool the roster is far from over as there are still pieces that need to be added to make sure that the team is as championship ready as they can be.

Something we can expect the Cavs to not do though is trade LeBron James, but there are provisions in his contract that would help him out if he was indeed traded at any point during his two-year deal with the Cavaliers.

As Chuck Myron points out, the idea that the Cavaliers would trade LeBron James at any point during his second tenure with the team is outlandish at best, but the 15 percent trade kicker that is in his deal might help hold trade talks at bay for the time being.

"The idea that the Cavs would trade LeBron James sometime during his two-year contract is outlandish, but just in case it happens, the deal includes a 15% trade kicker, according to Mark Deeks of ShamSports."

LeBron James will not be traded, but it’s interesting to note that he’s prepared, at least contractually, to fit such a scenario into his financial future. These trade kickers are usually in most big name veteran contracts as Luol Deng has the exact same kicker in his deal with the Miami Heat, so don’t read too far into the provision being in his deal.

Still, this brings up the unlikely topic of trading LeBron James, which at this point in his career can’t be counted out given how surprising his transactions have been so far over the past four years.
