This week there was a huge change to the college football landscape. Okay, well some won’t see it as that big of a deal, but if you’re a college football traditionalist, then yes, Notre Dame putting down field turf inside Notre Dame Stadium is a huge change.

Well, the finished product has been laid down, and just a few moments ago, the twitter account of the Notre Dame Football program gave us all a first look at the finished product.

All things considered, that doesn’t look that bad at all. It’s a sleek new look for one of the more recognizable programs in the history of not just college football, but sports in general.

However, for some Notre Dame fans, this is a sad day, having to look at that picture. One of the signatures of the program for some many years has been the natural grass that just added to the atmosphere of being inside Notre Dame Stadium.

Although opponents see this as a very welcome sight. For years, Notre Dame was accused of purposely letting the grass grow high whenever speedy teams were coming into visit, giving them a bit of an edge. Well those days are now over as they’re just like virtually everyone else in football.
