When Jose Molina went to set up behind the dish for the Rays in the first inning Wednesday, he found a special treat waiting for him at the plate: two packages of cheese and crackers left there by his brother Yadier.

Yadi had Cardinals third base coach Jose Oquendo deposit the crackers on the plate for Jose, who picked up the treats and slid them in his back pocket for safe keeping.

The whole situation was very amusing to the Molinas, Oquendo, both teams’ benches and the announcers.

We can only guess what true hidden message was being passed between the Molinas with that cracker gift. Maybe Jose just likes crackers. Or maybe there’s more to it than that.

The Molinas could have worked out a whole complex language based around food gifting. Can anyone crack the Molina brothers food gift Da Vinci Code?

Or yeah, Jose probably just likes crackers. Nothing tastes better than some crackers that have been in a catcher’s back pocket. They should market that. Molina Brothers Pocket Crackers.
