Josh Moore commits to Ohio State: Buckeyes land 3-Star TE
Just last month, 3-Star tight end Josh Moore decided to trim his list. He named the two teams that played in the BCS National Championship Game, the National Champion Florida State Seminoles and runner-up Auburn Tigers, the Kansas State Wildcats, Missouri Tigers, Ohio State Buckeyes and Oklahoma Sooners as his top six. Moore picked up offers from the Tigers, Seminoles and Sooners back in April, but the Seminoles and Tigers, who already have talented tight ends committed, didn’t seem like realistic destinations, at least not compared to the other schools on the list.

On Friday, Moore traveled to Columbus, Ohio to attend the Buckeyes’ biggest summer camp – Friday Night Lights, a camp with the same name of one Buckeyes’ head coach Urban Meyer hosted when he was head coach of the Florida Gators. Moore helped get the camp started off on the right foot, giving his commitment to the Buckeyes.
“I just love it,” Moore told 247Sports. “Everything was great.”
The 6’5, 250-pound Moore is from Olathe, Kansas and attends Olathe North High School. Moore is ranked as the country’s 22nd-best tight end prospect, the sixth-best overall prospect from the state of Kansas and the 751st-best overall prospect in the class of 2015, according to 24/7 Sports’ composite rankings.
Moore was also drawing interest from the Iowa State Cyclones, Kansas Jayhawks, Oklahoma State Cowboys and Texas Tech Red Raiders, who all extended offers.
Moore becomes the 13th verbal commitment for the Buckeyes in the class of 2015, which is headlined by 5-Star linebacker Justin Hilliard and 4-Star defensive end Jashon Cornell.
