After losing guard Ray Allen to the Miami Heat in free agency in 2012, the Celtics were eliminated in the first round of the 2013 postseason by the New York Knicks in six games (although they played without point guard Rajon Rondo, who tore his ACL during the season). In the offseason, they decided to deal swingman Paul Pierce and forward/center Kevin Garnett to the Brooklyn Nets, starting their rebuilding process.

More from Boston Celtics

The Celtics wound up in the lottery last season and have tried to quickly fix their team, pursuing Minnesota Timberwolves’ power forward Kevin Love, but the Timberwolves don’t seem particularly interested in what the Celtics have to offer, which is apparently just about everyone on their roster.

According to Larry Coon of Basketball Insiders, the Celtics have “almost anyone” on the table.

"The key to the rebuild is Rondo, of course. The Celtics seemed like they were on the fence for a while, but were looking for Rondo deals back at the trade deadline last season, and perhaps earlier. I think drafting Marcus Smart solidifies their plans. From what I’ve been hearing, they’ve been very open to making moves, and almost anyone is on the table."

The Celtics really could go either way – they have enough young talent, like Smart, their other 2014 first round pick, former Kentucky Wildcats’ swingman James Young and young big men Jared Sullinger and Kelly Olynyk and future picks that they can either deal for veterans or build around.
