Brian Cole commits to Michigan: Wolverines grab 4-star receiver
Michigan added their biggest commitment to the 2015 class with Saturday’s decision from Brian Cole (Saginaw, Mich. Heritage) to give his verbal commitment to the Wolverines.
The 6-2, 190-pound Cole is a four-star recruit in the 247Sports Composite Rankings, the No. 5 athlete and is ranked as the No. 65 recruit in the nation regardless of position and the No. 1 player in the state of Michigan.
Keeping the top player in the state is a significant development for Michigan who lost the top player in the state last year, Malik McDowell, to Michigan State and the crystal ball predictions on 247Sports were in favor of the Spartans getting Cole with 71 percent of the votes with the Wolverines only getting 24 percent.

Cole is designated as an athlete in the 247Sports rankings who also list him as a cornerback, but when he enrolls early at Michigan, which is believed to be his intentions, he will line up on the offensive side of the ball as a wide receiver and serve as a top target to develop alongside fellow 2015 commit Alex Malzone.
He isn’t a speed demon, rather more of a possession receiver who can move the chains and make clutch catches on third downs by lining up in the slot or on the perimeter and going over the middle and taking a big hit to come down with the catch.
With the commitment of Cole, Michigan now has nine commitments for this year and owns the nation’s No. 27 class and the No. 5 class in the Big Ten.
