The Kevin Love trade saga has had more twists and turns as of late than we expected to see, but resolution may not be far off at the moment.

More from Minnesota Timberwolves

After months of twisting in the wind, Kevin Love has reportedly made a decision on where he wants to play next season and has settled on the Cleveland Cavaliers as his new preferred destination.

According to Sam Amico from Fox Sports Ohio, Kevin Love has informed his agent that he would like to be traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers, although a formal trade request to the Wolves has not yet been made.

"Multiple league sources told FOX Sports Ohio on Friday they are under the impression Love has relayed his desire for a trade to Cleveland to his agent. Love is represented by Jeff Schwartz."

Amico goes on to report that should a trade request be made to the Timberwolves, then Cleveland can demand a lower price on Love since the mutual feelings between the Cavs and Love would work against the Wolves high demands for return.

"Sources could not say for certain whether Love or Schwartz have made a formal trade request to the Timberwolves. Most believe if such a request is made, the Cavs will be able to obtain Love at a considerably cheaper cost than what is being discussed by the teams."

This is huge progress and a massive win for the Cavaliers, who can now dangle Love’s desire to play for them in the face of the Wolves as they tell Minnesota to back off their crazy trade requests. No formal request from Love has been made though, but it seems like we’re getting to the point where the standoff between Cleveland and Minnesota will be ended by the man in themiddle of it all.
