The San Francisco 49ers have great depth at running back but they’re seeing that depth tested with a slew of injuries at training camp already.

San Francisco lost running back Kendall Hunter on Friday and they saw another one of their versatile backups carted off the field on Sunday night. LaMichael James was carted off the field with what looked like a serious knee injury at practice on Sunday but the diagnosis isn’t as bad as it seemed.

According to Ian Rapoport from NFL Network, the Niners will be without James for just a month, which is something that they didn’t think would be possible given how scary the scene was when he left practice.

This is good news for the 49ers as it could have been a lot worse when it came ot how long James was out. Just this weekend the team lost running back Kendall Hunter to a torn ACL which will put him out for the season, but James won’t be out htat long which is a good thing for the Niners — not that their hurting at running back depth.
