New York Jets news: Calvin Pryor diagnosed with concussion
By Jack Crosby
The New York Jets are expecting a lot out of second-year safety Calvin Pryor, not just this season, but for the next few seasons to come after the way he stepped up at the end of last season. However, in camp over the weekend, Pryor suffered a bit of a setback as he went down with a head injury, that is now being confirmed by Brian Coz of the New York Post as a concussion.
Head coach Rex Ryan spoke to the media shortly after Sunday’s practice, and that is where the news was broke to the media in attendance.

After getting off to a slow start in his rookie season last year, Pryor turned it on down the stretch and really turned into one of the better players on the defensive side of the ball for the Jets. He was so good near the end of the campaign that he won Defensive Rookie of the Month honors for the month of December.
With his improved play, he has become a favorite of the defensive-minded Ryan.
But now, he’ll be out for a good amount of time until the doctors go through the proper protocol to clear him to return to full contact on the field.
