The San Francisco Giants already pulled off one trade to land a pitcher they need but they don’t seem to be completely done wheeling and dealing to make sure their lineup is as solid as it can be for this second half of the season as they push towards the postseason.

More from MLB Trade Rumors

Jake Peavy has already been acquired in a trade with the Boston Red Sox — a trade that cost the Giants two of their best prospects — but they remain focused on talking with the Tampa Bay Rays about making a deal for Ben Zobrist to add him to both their outfield and the infield.

According to FOX Sports insider Jon Morosi, the Giants and Rays seem to still be interested in talking about a Zobrist trade before the deadline passes this week.

It’s not surprising that Zobrist is getting attention as he’s been up and down this year so far with Tampa Bay, which makes him both affordable but also a wild card acquisition. The Giants think they know what they’re getting in Jake Peavy, but should they acquire Zobrist too they run the risk of acquiring two busts that end up hurting them more than they do helping.
