One of the biggest names being discussed at the MLB trade deadline is Cy Young winner and Tampa Bay Rays ace pitcher David Price.

More from MLB Trade Rumors

But just because he’s being discussed on a daily basis by so many different teams, doesn’t mean that we’re going to see action  a Price trade at all. Despite numerous trade rumors swirling around baseball this past month, it’s looking less and less likely that Price is traded at all before the deadline passes.

According to FOX Sports’ Ken Rosenthal, the Tampa Bay Rays may end up keeping David Price instead of trading him at the deadline, which is what s many analysts have assumed

"The Rays, however, are still mulling whether they will even trade Price. They enter Monday’s play 7-1/2 games out in the American League East and stand only a 7 percent chance of winning the division and 13.5 percent chance of reaching the postseason, according to Fangraphs."

There are multiple outcomes to the David Price trade rumors and one of the increasingly popular outcomes is that he’s not going to be traded at all. That’s something that Rays fans are going to have deal with as a possibility as the deadline nears as the Rays need to figure out something to do with Price and the resolution may be more anticlimactic than we’ve all been anticipating.
