Derrick Rose has zero limitations as Bulls PG begins camp with Team USA
Derrick Rose has not played an NBA game since he suffered a season-ending meniscus injury last November, but the former league MVP for the Chicago Bulls will have a chance to knock the rust off this week with Team USA.

The youngest MVP in league history has played in 10 games over the past two seasons with knee injuries, but after rehabbing all winter and spring and practicing with the Bulls’ summer league team, Rose is a full-go for head coach Mike Krzyzweski and won’t be limited in any way.
Coach K told Yahoo Sports’ Marc Spears that Rose will not have any restrictions on him when training camp gets underway in Las Vegas:
“No. No. None at all. Again, he hasn’t played against this competition [in a while]. We have to watch that. But no. He says he’s ready to go. I haven’t seen him play. These next few days I will see the new guys, see Derrick. We put in part of our foundation for this system, but we have to give them the opportunity to play. The Select Team gives us an opportunity to compete and play more than just practice against each other.”
If Rose can regain the instincts and show no signs of the ACL and meniscus injuries he’s sustained over the past three years, Coach K will have a tough call when it comes to naming the final roster for the World Cup.
With Stephen Curry, John Wall, Damian Lillard and Kyrie Irving battling for a roster spot, if Rose looks like the former MVP, not only will it boost Team USA’s chances but will also mean an All-Star will be left off the roster.
