There have been reports swirling for months that San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh wants to be one of the highest-paid coaches in the NFL.

There was even some discussion during the offseason that Harbaugh could potentially be involved in trades, but nothing ever came to fruition.

Now, Harbaugh is taking another opportunity to deny that he wants to be one of the highest-paid coaches in the game.

“For the record, I have never asked to be the highest-paid coach in football,” Harbaugh tells Jason Cole of Bleacher Report.  “I have never asked to be paid like a Super Bowl-winning coach.  I have never asked for more power.  Nor has anybody asked for those things on my behalf, which anybody in this organization can attest to, and all the focus will be on the 2014 season and achieving our goals of the team.”

Harbaugh will continue to deny the reports, but there are still people who believe he does want a pay raise.

The best way for Harbaugh to make sure that happens is to go out and win a Super Bowl with the 49ers which will leave the team no choice but to offer him an extension that will give him the salary he believes he deserves.
