You know how they say you can pick your friends but you can’t pick your family? You also can’t pick who members of your family choose to bring into the fold. Joe Namath certainly would’ve chosen a different husband for her daughter Olivia than the man she reportedly married.

More from New York Jets

In an exclusive report, the website Gossip Extra says that earlier this month Olivia was wed to one Edwin Baker III, a Jupiter, Florida man who sports a rap sheet longer than the sleeve of one of Broadway Joe’s famous fur coats.

Foremost among Baker’s busts was a 2006 arrest for robbing a McDonald’s. Baker and his accomplice reportedly absconded with $10,000 in the incident, but were nailed hours later at a gas station. Baker ended up pleading guilty.

Baker also has been nailed for cocaine and marijuana possession, driving with a suspended license and reckless operation of a boat. His last bust was in 2013 for skipping a court date.

And this guy isn’t in prison?

I don’t know how Namath could have given his blessing for his daughter to marry this guy, but bless the marriage he did, giving the bride away during the ceremony at the Ringling Museum in Sarasota.

Only 12 people attended the ceremony, but nevertheless, Joe is reported to have shelled out a large amount of money to bankroll the affair. I guess Joe just doesn’t know how to say no to his daughter. Either that or they slipped him a roofie.
