Although Colorado Rockies shortstop Troy Tulowitzki (currently rehabbing an injury) watched the New York Yankees in the Bronx this weekend, it’s the team in Queens who seems to be lusting over the All-Star.

More from Colorado Rockies

Just days after the New York Mets reportedly informed the Colorado Rockies that they’d like a phone call if Troy Tulowitzki was ever placed on the trading block, it seems as if Sandy Alderson and company are looking to expedite a potential deal and are preparing to make a trade offer.

That’s the word from Yahoo Sports’ Jeff Passan who reports that the New York Mets are willing to give up top pitching prospect Noah Syndergaard in a deal for Troy Tulowitzki.

"The St. Louis Cardinals expressed significant interest in him last offseason. They continue to reach out to the Rockies, as have the New York Mets, who are prepared to offer top pitching prospect Noah Syndergaard in a deal for 29-year-old. And the response is: Not yet. We’re not ready to deal him. We want to hear it from him."

Moving Tulowitzki is obviously a difficult decision for the Colorado Rockies considering the shortstop is locked up long term (he’s signed through 2021) and is their franchise star. Of course, with a iffy minor league system and a small market income, the Colorado Rockies know that replenishing their farm will likely come at the expense of not only Tulo, but fellow All-Star Carlos Gonzales as well.

For now it doesn’t appear as if the Rockies are interested in trading Troy Tulowitzki, but we know how quickly things can change.
