Choosing the best quarterback should be harder than this, but it’s so easy. There’s no discussion. The best quarterback in the NFL is Peyton Manning, hands down.
Tom Brady does have more Super Bowl rings and a much weaker supporting cast over the last few seasons. Manning was also destroyed in the Super Bowl by the Seattle Seahawks and their tenacious defense. I understand, but it doesn’t change my opinion or the statistical evidence.
Last season, Manning played the best any quarterback has played in NFL history. He re-wrote the record books in every major statistical passing category. And, nothing seems like it’s going to change this year, as the Broncos should have a better offense than they did last season with the addition of Emmanuel Sanders.
If I had to choose a quarterback for next season, and next season alone, I’d take Manning every time.
Other Nominees: Tom Brady, Drew Brees, Aaron Rodgers
