Handicapping the Stanley Cup Final contenders in late July is a bit like trying to lay down some ice on a balmy summer day, but with much of the dust settled after a busy offseason, it’s time to start evaluating. Many of the NHL’s top teams spent the offseason bolstering their respective rosters in hopes of upending the Los Angeles Kings, and from the looks of things, some of them potentially succeeded.

With August right around the corner, let’s take a look at the key contenders for the Stanley Cup Final in 2015:
