The Oakland Raiders have always been rumored to be moving away from Oakland and the Bay Area ever since they moved back in the early 1990s, but it seems that there may finally be legitimate action on franchise relocation for the Raiders.

More from Las Vegas Raiders

According to a report from the San Antonio Express-News, the Raiders are considering a move to San Antonio and have even met with officials to discuss the supposed move.

The natural reaction by Raiders fans — or any fan base that is being threatened with relocation — is to deny and refuse to believe the rumor has any truth to it whatsoever. That’s something going on right now in Oakland but the Raiders being so noncommittal about the supposed talks is not going to be comforting to fans scared that a move is seriously possible.

According to Jerry McDonald from the Oakland Tribune, the Raiders indeed have no comment on the talks — which is code for they happened and might be serious.

Of course, the Raiders could be talking about anything, including possibly playing games in San Antonio or having training camp there, but that’s all dodging the possibility — the very real one — that relocation to San Antonio is on the minds of Raiders brass.

We won’t know right away what the immediate plans are, but as of now it sounds like Texas may be getting another team.
