Harbaugh: 49ers Brandon Lloyd “something to behold”
Brandon Lloyd has impressed on the field. He’s been productive and consistent, running crisp routes and displaying the extensive route tree of a seasoned veteran. He’s standing out off the field, too. During a film study, Lloyd demonstrated unique enthusiasm, jumping to his feet to demonstrate a jab step, swim moves or hand motions necessary for each moment on tape.

“It’s pretty much the whole meeting,” Harbaugh said. “There’s self-talk during the meeting. Talk about full-speed mentally and 100-percent engaged in the meeting. I’ve never seen a guy at any level go through a meeting like that.
“It makes me giggle and giddy to watch him do it. I wish I’d seen that earlier in my career, I could’ve adopted that into my meeting game. It’s awesome. It’s something to behold.”
Lloyd’s tenacity is impressing the resident veteran and fellow 33-year-old, Anquan Boldin. They both are attempting to prove they can upend the stereotype that age matters for receivers in the NFL.
“I think he’s a great guy to have around,” said receiver Anquan Boldin, one of the most-respected players on the team. “We love having him in the meeting room. He definitely makes everything live. I think he fits in.”
Boldin has proved that he can be productive in the ladder years of his career. He caught 85 balls for 1,179 yards in 2013. That’s the kind of production Lloyd can likely only aspire to. While Boldin was tapping the fountain of youth, Lloyd did not play a down of football. However, his year off seems to have more energized than ever.
