Tony Romo is just fine, according to Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones. How does he know? He just knows, all right? There’s no room for interpretation and there’s no speculation. The Cowboys fully plan on having Romo start for the team in Week One of the 2014 NFL season.

More from Dallas Cowboys

Jones told the Star-Telegram, “[Romo] is 100 percent. He’s 100 percent. He’s just being real smart and sensitive about having come off the back surgery. He’s certainly not losing any ground from the standpoint of opening up against San Francisco [in the regular-season opener].”

Romo underwent back surgery this offseason and the team has been understandably cautious in utilizing him much to this point. A veteran of Romo’s caliber doesn’t exactly need every rep in the early phases of training camp.

The team prefers to slowly work him up to game speed while keeping an eye out for any hiccups in Romo’s recovery.

"“I just had a brief visit with him on the way out to practice,” Jerry Jones said. “We feel real good. We’re really pleased with the way he’s practicing and the work he’s getting done and what he’s doing both on and off the field, but nothing in any way would concern you certainly about his back.”"

There you have it. Back to the grind, Cowboys fans. Nothing to see here.

If Jerry feels good about Romo, then you should too. After all, when has Jerry Jones ever been wrong about an assessment of his roster?
