The Minnesota Timberwolves remain unwilling to budge in their stance regarding a Kevin Love trade. Of course, despite their denials, it’s pretty hard to believe that they’d be willing to go into the season with the disgruntled power forward on their roster.

More from Minnesota Timberwolves

While it’s completely understandable that the T’Wolves are holding out for as much of a return as possible, the fact remains that having Kevin Love in the Timberwolves locker room at any point this season would be toxic. That’s not to say it would be the fault of Love, but nobody wants to play with a guy who allegedly wants out. Given that, it’s being reported that it’s a ‘safe bet’ that Kevin Love will be traded before the start of the season.

The Los Angeles Lakers are said to have made Kevin Love their top target, however they’re lacking the needed assets to acquire the All-Star in the trade. Much of the same could be said for the Boston Celtics, who appeared to be the favorite to land Kevin Love before the NBA draft. Now however, it seems as if they’ve given up the ghost on a deal.

Outside of them, both the Chicago Bulls and Cleveland Cavaliers are deemed to be the favorites to land Love in a trade though speculation has hinted that the Golden State Warriors and Denver Nuggets shouldn’t be completely taken out of the mix at this point.

Regardless, it doesn’t make much sense for the T’Wolves to keep Kevin Love on their roster so the idea of a trade before the regular season tips off seems very real.
