Although the Miami Heat have shown interest in re-signing Michael Beasley, they’re not the only NBA team looking at the veteran small forward.

More from Dallas Mavericks

There have been whispers suggesting that the Los Angeles Lakers could be a potential destination for the former No. 2 overall pick and they seem like a good fit if Michael Beasley wants floor time and attention. But what if he wants to win? That doesn’t seem likely with the Lakers (at least right now) and according to Sam Amico of Fox Sports, the Dallas Mavericks are a team to watch when it comes to signing the forward.

Speaking during his weekly chat, Amico was asked about the Cleveland Cavaliers interest in the veteran (to which they reportedly have none), though he outlined the Mavericks as a potential dark horse candidate.

"I’ve heard the Pacers have some interest, but only from people outside the organization. Also watch out for the Mavericks."

Such a move actually does make some sense for the Dallas Mavericks considering they were planning to sign Rashard Lewis before he failed his physical. Now, it’s been said that the Mavericks are still interested in Lewis but if they could get Michael Beasley to accept a small deal, he’d certainly provide the scoring punch they’re wanting off the bench.

For Michael Beasley, it’s simply a matter of what he wants. Does he want to have a limited role on a title contender or does he want to have an expanded role on a poor team? Either way he’s not going to be making much money, so it’s essentially about a desire to win and contribute.
