Dirk Nowitzki is taking his talents to the big screen. The NBA legend is the subject of a documentary to be released in September, according to the Dallas Morning News.

"Nowitzki: Der perfekte Wurf is a movie to be released on Sept. 18, 2014, in Germany with a titel that translates into Nowitzki: The Perfect Shot in English. The documentary tells the story of the Mavericks standout’s rise from a German regional basketball league to an NBA champion, and the role that Geschwindner played in his development."

But Dirk isn’t the only big name that moviegoers will see.

"According to IMDB.com, Kobe Bryant, Mark Cuban, Steve Nash and others discuss the 2007 NBA MVP in a movie that includes appearances by Barack Obama, Conan O’Brien, David Stern and Angela Merkel. Award-winning documentarian Sebastian Dehnhardt directs."

Nowitzki has one of the more interesting stories in the NBA, due to his unique skill set and his rise from “the guy who can’t win the big one” to the leader of a team that dispatched the Miami Heat’s super-team in the 2011 NBA Finals.

Entering his 17th NBA season, Dirk has career averages of 22.5 points and 8.1 rebounds. He has been named to the all-star team 12 times.
