Man suing Shaquille O’Neal for online mocking

It seems as if Sacramento Kings minority owner and NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal will be a bit more careful online in the future as the big man is currently being sued for mocking a man online.

More from NBA

You may recall a few months back, O’Neal and other celebrities like Waka Flocka Flame (yep, that’s a real person) and NBA player Trey Burke of the Utah Jazz mocked the appearance of Jahmel Binion. The 23-year-old posted a photo of himself online which lead to many, including the three mentioned above, ridiculing him.

That obviously didn’t sit well with Binion who is in the process of suing O’Neal now.

"Jahmel Binion, 23 at the time of the incident, filed a lawsuit Wednesday against O’Neal, Trey Burke and the rapper known as Waka Flocka Flame in Macomb County Circuit Court. He claims defamation, intentional infliction of emotional distress, invasion of privacy and general negligence for the incidents earlier this year."

Shaquille O’Neal and others involved did apologize though it doesn’t appear that Binion feels it was enough or even sincere, part of the reason he is moving forward with the lawsuit.

It certainly wasn’t the smartest of moves by O’Neal, Flocka Flame (did I really just type that?) and Burke, but it may not be worth going to court over.

Shaquille O’Neal, who obtained the photo decided to make a similar facial gesture and posted the caption ‘smile today’, so it’s tough to say that his ‘mocking’ was meant in a malcious fashion. Still, I’m guessing Shaq will be a little more careful down the road.
