Meb Keflezighi to run in 2014 New York City Marathon

On Thursday, it was announced that 2014 Boston Marathon winner Meb Keflezighi will be running the 2014 New York City Marathon on November 2.

Keflezighi will be running to raise funds for the Team for Kids charity, along with former world No. 1 tennis player Caroline Wozniacki.

The news was announced on CBS This Morning.

Back on April 21, Keflezighi became the first American man to win the Boston Marathon since 1983. Keflezighi crossed the finish line on Boylson Street in a time of 2:08:36, which set a new personal record.

Keflezighi won the New York City Marathon back in 2009, but finished in 23rd last year.

With moment on his side after the win in Boston earlier this year, Keflezighi is hoping to once again cross the finish line in first place in his eighth New York City Marathon.

“This is a very special race and city for me,” Keflezighi said in the press release.
