NFL: Which team will go worst to first in 2014?

One of the great things about the NFL is that even if your favorite team had a bad year last season there is still reason to believe that they can turn it around this year. For eleven consecutive seasons there has been a team in the NFL that has gone from worst to first in their division. Last season it was the Philadelphia Eagles and Carolina Panthers that officially pulled it off and that doesn’t even count the Kansas City Chiefs that went from worst record in the NFL to an 11-5 playoff team. The parity in the NFL has created an environment where teams can get things back on track quickly. So with the NFL season quickly approaching the question becomes….

Which team will go from worst to first in 2014?

There are nine candidates up for consideration (Atlanta and Tampa Bay tied in the NFC South). Those teams are:

Buffalo Bills
Cleveland Browns
Houston Texans
Oakland Raiders
Washington Redskins
Minnesota Vikings
Atlanta Falcons
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
St. Louis Rams

So this week I’m counting down these nine teams in order of their likelihood of making the worst to first jump in 2014. The main factors that went into these rankings include roster changes, players returning from injury, front office and/or coaching changes, schedule, and division competition.
