Eagles RB LeSean McCoy is doing his little part to make sure the age-old Dallas-Philadelphia rivalry still has plenty of fuel to keep the fires burning.

More from Dallas Cowboys

Philly.com’s Jimmy Kempski detailed the little scene that unfolded after Eagles practice on Thursday involving McCoy, a certain infamous Dallas receiver-turned-broadcaster and some Philly fans.

The words were spoken in jest by McCoy, but you know the Philly fans ate them up anyway. You also know Dallas players will hear about McCoy’s words and make sure to have something special for him when the two teams meet. There will be some extra-salty trash talking between the Dallas D and McCoy in that first game.

Remember guys, homophobic and racial slurs will get you flagged now, so try to keep it clean. Clean trash-talking is better anyway. Any idiot can throw around slurs, it takes a truly creative trash talker to come up with witty insults that stay within the bounds of propriety.

As for the objective truth of McCoy’s words? He went for 151 in one game against Dallas last year but only 55 in the other game. That’s not owning. He owned them in one game but did not own them in the other.

So, he’s more leasing Dallas. But “I lease Dallas” doesn’t have the same ring as “I own Dallas.” So he exaggerated a little for effect.
