Kevin Love is going to be traded but we’re going to have to endlessly hear about him for the rest of the month. August 25th is the earliest a trade can be made that would include Andrew Wiggins which means that Love and his whining about hating Minnesota will last for another 24 days — most likely.

More from Chicago Bulls

One way this trade situation can reach a resolution is if another team swoops in and makes a trade, but that’s not going to be happening anymore it seems.

According to Bob Finnan from The Morning Journal & The News-Herald, the Cavaliers are the only team in the running to land Kevin Love as all other teams that were at one point or another mentioned with him have backed off their pursuit.

"The two sides are pretty far down the line in a possible deal. Most of the other suitors around the league – Chicago, Golden State, Denver and Boston – have seemingly backed off. They realize they can’t trump the Cavaliers’ offer if Wiggins is included."

Love being traded to the Cavaliers seemed like a foregone conclusion, and it’s now just the finer details of the trade being worked out. But as we’ve seen, those details are a lot more complicated than they might otherwise seem, which is why the Wolves and Cavs have only talked about a Kevin Love trade and haven’t yet made one.

Either way, it’s a race that the Cavs are running unopposed, which means that we’re more than likely going to see a trade before the month of August is through.
