Last season saw Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Nick Foles burst onto the scene as one of the best quarterbacks in the game, and that has many Eagles fans hoping for an encore performance in the 2014 season to come.

But so far in Eagles camp, there hasn’t been a ton of outright MVP moments for Foles, who was heavily considered as a snub by some despite Peyton Manning deserving the award so much more.

According to the Philadelphia Inquirer & Daily News, Foles hasn’t looked the sharpest in training camp which is both expected and a little troubling.

"Foles has room to grow in each department. He’s been good in camp. Not great. He had some strong throws today, a few bad ones. Foles’ best completion came in red zone when he waited for Brent Celek to lose Brandon Graham, anticipated the end of the route and tossed a strike for a touchdown. He did have his second interception in as many days when he threw behind B.J. Cunningham over the middle and DeMeco Ryans stepped in front for the pick. Foles also chucked a pass into one of the Michael Vick Memorial Flyswatters the Eagles use during 7-on-7 drills."

This isn’t something to overreact about but it’s worth noting that we could be in for a little bit of a regression for Foles this upcoming season. He lost DeSean Jackson, which hurts, but added Darren Sproles and some rookie talent which should help fill the void a bit.

Still, it’s naive to think that the second full season with Foles under center will go as swimmingly as the first season did as even the best have sophomore slumps and Foles is showing early signs of slight regression.
