The most important building blocks of a successful fantasy season are usually your top two running backs. Many successful owners swear by taking them in the first two rounds, but I don’t necessarily subscribe to that opinion based on how your league handles its scoring and how you can build value at other positions.
However, whenever you get them, having a solid running back corps is virtually a requirement in most formats.
You might be able to patch together or “stream” other positions, but scarcity makes good running backs extremely hard to find once the season gets rolling.
Due to the depth at the position, I’ve given you my top 40 RB below with a quick comment on each.
