Bulls' Derrick Rose gets MVP chants at USA scrimmage

The United States basketball team had a scrimmage amongst themselves on Friday night in Las Vegas. The game will most likely be remembered for the gruesome leg injury of Paul George, a tragic injury that happened in a relatively meaningless game.

There was another notable aspect of the game, the return of Chicago Bull point guard Derrick Rose to basketball action. Rose has missed the majority of the last two seasons with injuries and his future has been questioned.

During the game, Rose lined up to take some free throws and the crowd chanted “MVP.” It is interesting that the Vegas crowd chose to chant MVP for Rose, who plays in Chicago. That normally is the treatment of a hometown with their star player, and it has been several seasons since Rose’s MVP campaign.

Still it had to be uplifting for Rose’s spirits and he had to enjoy the moment as he looks to resume his basketball playing career.
