Mission number one at Arkansas for Bret Bielema was to begin locking down the in-state talent, and one of the biggest gets to date was the verbal pledge of 4-star pro-style quarterback Ty Storey from Charleston, Ark.

Storey made his commitment over a year ago and has not wavered from being a part of what Bielema is building in Fayetteville. However, it appears Storey is even more anxious to be a part of the Razorbacks family than his early commitment may have indicated.

According to College Football Talk’s Kevin McGuire, Bielema indicated that Storey will enroll early at the University of Arkansas, starting his career this coming January instead of next fall.

Storey is a 4-star quarterback per the 247Sports composite rankings, he is also the No. 8-ranked pro-style quarterback and the No. 4 player out of the state of Arkansas in the 2015 class.

Arkansas has landed verbal commitments from three of the top five players in the state according to the 247Sports rankings, with the other two still uncommitted as of today.

He’ll join a pretty loaded roster of quarterbacks ahead of him, as Bielema also was able to attract 4-star quarterback Rafe Peavey to Fayetteville, Ark. as part of the 2014 class and then there’s junior starter Brandon Allen who will still be on campus next season as well .

The Razorbacks are coming off a bad start to the Bielema era, going 2-10 last season and winless in the SEC. Improvement on the roster is clearly needed, and landing back-to-back 4-star quarterbacks is a good way to go about that in the ultra-competitive SEC West.
