The first football game of the year is now in the books as the Hall of Fame weekend in Canton has wrapped up with the conclusion of the Hall of Fame Game between the New York Giants and Buffalo Bills.

More from Buffalo Bills

It’s just a preseason game, and it got pretty boring rather fast as the high of having football back wore off rather quickly, but not before Eli Manning managed to fumble the ball right out of the gate, both channeling his brother from Super Bowl XLVIII and tapping into his lame season from last year.

From there though, the Giants actually didn’t have that bad of a game, even if they fell behind the Bills for a majority of the game. It was Andre Williams scoring the first touchdown of the new season and the first of his new career in the NFL but that was quickly countered with a Jeff Tuel touchdown pass to Robert Woods.

That made it a 10-7 game which the Giants then tied before halftime, and int he second half it was all New York Giants football. Granted, the scrubs were in at this point, but Ryan Nassib played a rather significant part of the game under center, fighting rumors that his job is on the bubble.

His job may very well be at stake but his performance on the night, highlighted by this 73-yard touchdown pass that ended up being a game-winner, was pretty good.

It’s just the first preseason game of the year, and the appeal wore off rather fast but it’s looking like the Bills are off to the right start in figuring things out and the Giants might be getting back to where they were a few years ago — of course, all analysis coming from a football game that doesn’t count for anything.
