After an impressive run in the 2014 World Cup, Costa Rica goalkeeper Keylor Navas was certainly going to attract suitors. That team was the reigning Champions League winners, Real Madrid. And the signing is just the latest in a summer with high profile signings.
“Real Madrid CF and Levante UD have reached an agreement over the transfer of Keylor Navas, who will be tied to the club for the next six seasons,” a statement on Real’s official website read.
“The player will be presented on Tuesday, August 5, at 1pm (local time) in the Bernabeu’s royal box, after undergoing the relevant medical examinations.
“Subsequently, Navas will tread the turf of the Bernabeu for the first time and will address the media in the press room.”
Navas helped Costa Rica reach the quarterfinals and was a candidate for the Golden Gloves award. Navas let in just two goals in five game and held teams such as the Netherlands, England and Italy at bay with his shot-stopping
