While the South Carolina Gamecocks have lost one of the most disruptive defensive forces in college football history, they still have a lot of talent returning for the 2014 campaign. Some would argue that bruising tailback Mike Davis is more important to the success of this team than anyone, but is this his last season in Columbia?

Well he was recently asked about that, and while not giving a definitive answer, he seemed to hint toward the fact that he could be gone following this season.

Davis took over for Marcus Lattimore last season for South Carolina on a full-time basis, and he did a masterful job, while also showing that he’s one of the most dominant backs in college football.

Last season, Davis rushed for 1,183 yards on 203 carries with 11 touchdowns. He also added in 352 yards on 34 catches, showing some flashes of versatility out of the backfield.

Between he and experienced quarterback Dylan Thompson, this South Carolina offense has the potential to be one of the best in the SEC.

But will it ultimately end up being the last we see of Davis?
