Now that former NBA All-Star guard Tracy McGrady has retired from his second sport (first basketball and now baseball), there has been speculation McGrady could return to the basketball court.

More from NBA

After all, McGrady was once one of the game’s elite players and perhaps the best scorer in basketball for a few years. McGrady was originally the ninth overall pick by the Toronto Raptors in the 1997 draft. He also played for the Orlando Magic, Houston Rockets, New York Knicks, Detroit Pistons and Atlanta Hawks. With the Magic, McGrady led the league in scoring twice in four seasons before ultimately demanding a trade to the Rockets because of the Magic’s inability to put enough talent around him (mostly because of the injuries to former star Grant Hill).

Plus, McGrady is still just 35 years old and there are plenty of older players in the NBA. Of course, McGrady has suffered several injuries in his career and spent 15 years playing.

According to Steve Kyler of Basketball Insiders, McGrady simply isn’t interested in a comeback.

Over the course of his career, McGrady averaged 19.6 points, 5.6 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 1.2 steals per game while shooting 43.5% from the field, 33.8% from beyond the arc and 74.6% from the free throw line.
