It wasn’t a death sentence by any means, but it no doubt set the Nets back and didn’t help their decent into frustration and madness at times during the year.
According to Nets Daily, via Rush’N Hoops, Lopez says he’s fully cleared to return to action this season for the Nets as his body seems ready to get back out on the court.
"“It’s great,” he told a reporter for RBC, Mikhail Prokhorov’s business TV channel. “I was fully cleared for play and everything a week and a half ago. It’s great. Now its time to get back in shape.”"
Having Lopez back is going to be huge for the Nets, as it will mean that they finally have the big man threat they needed to badly at times last year. Had Lopez not been lost early on in the season for the entire duration of the year, there’s a good chance that the Nets wouldn’t have gone out so easily in the postseason against the Miami Heat and they maybe even would have secured a higher seeding.
That’s all assumption, but the bottom line is that Lopez is needed by Brooklyn and the Nets are hoping they’re getting back the Brook Lopez he was before the injury last year and not a watered down version of that player.
